Othello act 3

This act has been like a soap opera. I can see the opportunities for Othello to save himself are getting very very slim. One thing that stuck out to me was when Cassio went to talk to Desdemona and when he heard Othello coming he just covered his face an ran away. Which was very stupid because if he really wanted his job back he should have confronted Othello about it. But if Othello wasn't so gullible he would have asked Cassio his side of the story. Desdemona tried her hardest to get him to talk to Cassio but he didn't know what the people of Cyprus would've thought.


In my opinion everyone one in this play is stupid except for Iago. Even though i dislike him. He's very manipulative and two faced. For example he subconsciously put the idea that Cassio was cheating into Othello's head. He kinda beat around the bush at it, and then tried to make it seem like he wasn't sure and he doesn't want to hurt anyone. Othello tries to talk himself out of being jealous but he acts like he is and everyone can see that.

The whole mess about the handkerchief thing showed how stupid people can be. Othello is supposed to be a smart man right? Wouldn't he have noticed that the handkerchief was placed on his head? And if it was Desdemona's favorite pesstion wouldnt she have noticed it was gone and picked it up? I think when Othello found out that it was gone and asked her where it was and actually listened it could've been prevented.

I'm not even sure what to think of the next act. I really just wanna see who dies and who kills who and how? I think i have a few clues though as to who it might be. But the only thing i can think is that Iago is the only main character left, And that he gets to take Othello's place in the end. But you can never be too sure.

Mentor log 1

Well i called my mentor to ask him a few questions about murder. One of the questions i asked was what is a "plea of no contest"? He said that that was when someone doesnt plea at all...like when a person is asked to plead guilty or not guilty. We talked about my paper for about 20 mins and he asked when is this all due and i told him. We also talked about what my product is going to be. We have a few ideas but nothing seemed to stick so we are gonna keep talking about it and figure out what we are going to do.

Act two was like a reality tv show gone bad. Iago has come up with a plan to set Cassio up to make him lose his job and to also make it seem like there is a secret relationship between him and desdemona. So far Iago is my least favorite character because he's so jealous and two faced. I also think that Cassio was smart up to this act but i dont think he is anymore because Cassio thinks that Iago is being a good guy when he really isnt.

One part that stuck out to me was when Cassio was saying that he didnt wanna lose his good reputation with Othello. It made me realise that people are always trying to impress other people. I think this is yet another reason why this story is still read today because it is relatable. I felt bad for Cassio though when he lost his job...it was kinda sad.

I am really excited to see what happends in the third act now considering the fact that the 2nd act was action packed. I think that When Cassio and desdemona talk about him getting his job back alot of stuff is going to unfold. I think Othello is gonna get mad and try and fight Cassio, then something else is going to happen and then someone is going to die...possibly.

Othello Act 1 Summary, Synopsis, and what i think of it so far

This story is like a Maury show episode so far. I think it's why people today still read it and enjoy what it's about because drama is really popular in our culture. It also seems to me that many characters are racist in this novel. Basically whats happened so far was that Othello, a black man and general in the Venetian army, fell and love and secretly got married to a Italian woman named Desdemona. Word gets out, and there are several conflicts that arised with that.

Two guys named Iago and Roderigo are plotting against Othello because they are both jealous. Iago is jealous because he didn't get the promotion that he wanted. He felt like since he had been on the battlefield so many times that he was qualified for the job. The other guy Roderigo is jealous because Othello got with the woman that he was trying to marry, but he didn't get approval from Desdemona's Father Brabantio. Well they go and throw rocks at his window and wake him up in the middle of the night and tell him that this black guy has set a spell on your daughter and made him marry her, and that he's in there bumping and griding with her right now. Iago goes over to Othello's house and tells him that Brabantio is angry at him and tries to act like his buddy. Othello acts very cool headed about this because he is confident that nothing bad will happen to him.

Then the guy who Othello picked to be his second in command, Cassio, shows up with some news that the Duke needs him to show up to a meeting about the latest about the war with turkey. He notices that Iago is here and was like What is he doing here?.Right after he says this, Brabantio shows up with his mob and the police. He[Brobantio] asks Othello where is daughter and why would he bewitch her? Othello then asks why doesn't he go get Desdemona and ask her herself. Desdemona shows up and explains to her father that she is in love with him and that she is not bewitched, she tells a story of how Othello tells his stories to her. Iago is told by Othello to accompany his wife to the island of Cyprus and that he will meet them there. Roderigo says that if Desdemona doesn't love him then he will kill himself but Iago says that he has a plan and that he just needs to sell his land and meet them at the island.

I think this story is really good so far...i think that they are going to set Casio up to make it seem like he is trying to get with Desdemona. I cant wait to see what hap pends next.
